Will Sevening became head athletic trainer of the San Antonio Spurs in 1998 after serving as assistant athletic trainer of the Indiana Pacers for five seasons. As a Pacers’ assistant from 1993-98, Sevening worked under the tutelage of longtime head athletic trainer David Craig.

During his tenure with the Pacers, he provided athletic healthcare coverage to various high school sport programs in the Indianapolis area and volunteered to assist Butler University’s sports medicine program.

After receiving a bachelor’s degree in biology in 1990 from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, Sevening earned a master’s degree in sports medicine in 1992 from the United States Sports Academy in Daphne, Ala. While in Alabama, Sevening served as athletic trainer for the Senior Bowl, the annual collegiate football game that showcases the NCAA’s top senior talent. He was one of two athletic trainers honored to provide healthcare services at the 2003 FIBA America Olympic Qualifying Tournament.

Sevening is a certified member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, a licensed athletic trainer in the state of Texas, and a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

An avid baseball fan, Sevening has traveled to nearly 60 major and minor league ballparks throughout the U.S. to see games. The Chicago native also enjoys physical fitness activities and playing golf.

Will and his wife Terri, who is an intensive care nurse, reside in San Antonio. They have two daughters, Allison and Emma, and son, Benjamin.

Joined the Spurs in the summer of 2003 after two seasons as the team’s equipment manager was promoted to assistant athletic trainer in the summer of 2005. Bergman grew up in Indianapolis and spent 13 years as an Indiana Pacers ball boy. He graduated from IUPUI in 2000 with a degree in exercise science and served as the athletic trainer of the Baltimore Bay Runners in the IBL for one season. In 2001 was named the athletic trainer for the Fayetteville Patriots in the NBDL Bergman traveled to Asia and South America as an athletic trainer of the NBDL touring team. He is a certified member of the National Athletic Trainers Association.
