NBATA Charity and Public Service Minimize
The NBATA Foundation is the charitible arm of the National Basketball Athletic Trainers Association. The foundation supports scholarships for students pursuing careers in athletic training through the National Athletic Trainers Association Grants and Scholarships Committee. Additionally, the NBATA donates several thousand dollars annually to local and national charities.

NBATA Blood Drive Minimize

In conjunction with the National Athletic Trainers Association Annual Meeting the NBATA sponsors a blood drive to benefit the local community.  Each year, upwards of 300 pints of blood are donated.

Scholarships Minimize
The NBTA and it's partners believe in education. Significant time, energy, and funds have been allocated for student scholarships. Each year, scholarships are awarded to deserving students of the athletic training profession. The NBATA is committed to the future of athletic training.

Vandervoort Memorial Scholarship Foundation Minimize
The Foundation was established in 1998 by Vandervoort’s wife Concetta and has been awarding scholarships to deserving student athletic trainers for nearly 20 years.

Vandervoort himself spent 17 years as the head athletic trainer for the Houston Rockets and was influential in helping the NBATA become the first athletic training organization recognized by a professional sports association. He served as chairman of the NBATA Executive Committee from 1977 to 1987 and was voted the NBA Athletic Trainer of the Year in 1983.

NBATA Scholarship Award Minimize
The NBATA has teamed up with the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and The Gatorade Company to award $2,000 scholarships annually to student athletic trainers:

All junior or senior collegiate athletic trainers with a minimum grade point average of 3.2 who are planning to pursue a career as a certified athletic trainer are eligible to apply for these, and the Vandervoort Memorial Scholarship Foundation scholarships. The application forms may be found at www.nata.org and must be submitted by February 1st of each year.
