In addition to his professional basketball experience, McCullough was a clinical physical therapist at the University of Ottawa and Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto in 1995. He served as an athletic therapist at the Edmonton (Alberta) Sports Institute in 1994.
McCullough was a student athletic therapist at the University of Toronto (UT) in 1993 working primarily with the hockey and football teams. His tenure in Toronto was highlighted by a national football championship with the UT Blues and serving as athletic therapist for the 1993 Canadian National Figure Skating Championships.
The Renfrew, Ontario, native received a bachelor’s degree in physical education from the University of Toronto in 1992 and graduated from the Sheridan College (Oakville, Ont.) Sports Injuries Management program in 1995. He is a certified member of the Canadian Athletic Therapists Association, an associate member of the NATA and is certificatied as a strength and conditioning specialist from the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Scott is also licensed as an athletic trainer by the state of Tennessee.
