Josh Corbeil

Josh Corbeil joined the Indiana Pacers as the Physical Therapist/Assistant Athletic Trainer in 2004. He was promoted to the Senior Director of Medical Operations/Head Athletic Trainer for the Pacers in 2005. Corbeil graduated from Boston University in 2000 with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in health studies and 2002 with a Master’s in physical therapy. Corbeil then gained his athletic training certification as an intern with the Boston Celtics for three seasons, while working as a physical therapist at Pro Sports Therapy in Waltham, Massachusetts. He earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2010 from Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions. In addition to being a licensed physical therapist and licensed athletic trainer, Corbeil is also a certified member of the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) as a performance enhancement specialist and a corrective exercise specialist. He is also a Certified Myofascial Trigger Point Therapist (CMTPT).
Corbeil developed an interest in sports medicine as a three-sport high school athlete at Attleboro High School where he suffered an injury and consequently learned more about sports medicine.
Corbeil was honored with the Joe O’Toole NBA Athletic Trainer of the Year in 2011. He was also a member of the first recipients of the Joe O’Toole/David Craig Athletic Training Staff of the Year award in 2019. He served 3 years as the Eastern Conference Representative on the NBATA Executive Committee and is the current Chairperson.
Josh currently resides in Greenwood, Indiana with his wife, Ellen, their daughter, Blake and son, Dean.

Carl Eaton joined the Pacers in 2005 as the Assistant Athletic Trainer and Physical Therapist for the Indiana Pacers. In 2016, he was promoted to Associate Head Athletic Trainer/Physical Therapist. His experience includes working as an assistant athletic trainer and physical therapist at the University of Delaware and as an intern with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He also has worked as an orthopedic physical therapist in clinics in Delaware and California. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in athletic training from Lock Haven University, his Master’s Degree in physical therapy from the University of Delaware, and his doctorate in physical therapy from the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions. He is a licensed physical therapist and athletic trainer by the state of Indiana and a certified strength and conditioning specialist by the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He is also a Certified Myofascial Trigger Point Therapist (CMTPT).

Patrick Gilbert
Physical Therapist / Assistant Athletic Trainer

Patrick Gilbert joined the Indiana Pacers as a Physical Therapist/Assistant Athletic Trainer in 2018. He graduated from Northeastern University in 2015 with a Bachelor’s degree, then received his Doctorate in physical therapy from Northeastern in 2016. He then attended Bridgewater State University and received his Master’s degree in athletic training in 2018. While at Northeastern, Gilbert interned with the Boston Celtics for two seasons and worked with the Northeastern Men’s Ice Hockey team. He then completed his final clinical rotation with the Pacers in 2016. Following his time at Northeastern, Gilbert worked as a physical therapist at Furnace Brook Physical Therapy in Quincy, MA. Before coming to the Pacers, Patrick also completed internships with Bryant University Football in Smithfield, RI and the Chicago Cubs in Mesa, AZ during his time at Bridgewater State.
In addition to being a licensed physical therapist and athletic trainer, Gilbert is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).

Ayami Sato joined the Indiana Pacers as a Physical Therapist/Assistant Athletic Trainer in 2023. She graduated from University of Nebraska at Kearney in 2008 with a Bachelor’s degree, then received her Master’s degree from University of Toledo in 2010. After her graduate school, she worked at the University of Toledo Medical Center: St. John’s Jesuit High School in Toledo, Ohio as the head athletic trainer for eight years. She then attended University of Dayton and received her Doctoral degree in physical therapy in 2019. Prior to joining the Pacers, she was working as the head athletic trainer/physical therapist for the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, the NBA G-league team for the Indiana Pacers. Sato also interned with Oklahoma City Blue in NBA G-league, Detroit Shock in WNBA, and Toshiba Brave Thunders in Japan’s Men’s Basketball League.
